stayAPT Suites, one of the fastest growing extended stay hotel brands, is seeking a results-driven, field-based Area Director of Sales to lead direct sales efforts for our properties in Cleveland & Lebannon, TN markets. This is a boots-on-the-ground position focused on driving occupancy, building and maintaining local relationships, and capturing extended stay business through proactive outside sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business by prospecting, cold calling, and conducting in-person sales visits in the Lafayette area.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key extended stay clients, including corporate, military/government, construction, relocation, and medical accounts.
- Conduct 3.5–4 full days per week of outside sales activity, with a focus on field visits, account follow-ups, and networking.
- Establish partnerships with military housing offices, lodging offices, relocation coordinators, unit leadership, and military-affiliated organizations to secure long-term and government-related business.
- Identify and pursue group and long-term stay opportunities.
- Maintain an active and updated sales pipeline, track and report activity and results weekly.
- Collaborate with General Managers and Revenue Management to optimize rates and availability for key accounts of the hotels.
- Negotiate corporate rates with new and existing corporate clients.
- Represent the brand professionally in the community and at local business events.
- Review (STR) report, local market publications and other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s market position.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of hotel sales experience, ideally in the extended stay segment.
- Proven ability to generate and close new business through direct sales efforts.
- Strong knowledge of Lafayette market or ability to quickly ramp up.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently in the field.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and time management skills.
- Military experience or veteran status, along with hotel sales experience, is a plus.
- Experience in roles involving relationship management, logistics coordination, housing, or government contracting is highly valued.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
