Position Summary

The Property Accountant is responsible for all key Hotel property accounting functions of the company. Responsibilities include general accounting for the hotel operating, management and franchise companies, timely and accurate financial close, accounting for managed franchisee locations, developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures, communicating effectively with all departments, working closely with senior leadership and operations to implement the company’s objectives.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly operational and management reports for internal review, balance sheet account analysis, bank account reconciliations, cash management and sales tax compliance.
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results and provide meaningful insight to leadership team.
- Review and recommend improvements policies and procedures consistent with industry standards.
- Work closely with operations leadership and property level personnel to support operations and procurement for the hotels.
- Take active involvement supporting preopening activities of new hotels, ensuring accurate implementation of accounting processes and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements prepared in accordance with US GAAP, assist with information to support tax filings, assist in providing supporting documentation for audit to ensure timely financial statement issuance.
- Annual 1099 compliance for applicable vendors.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, master’s degree preferred.
- 5 years general accounting experience including managing small accounting teams.
- Experienced in Accounts Payable, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Hotel Accounting, General Accounting, Intercompany Accounting, management reporting.
- Hospitality, commercial real estate, or construction industry experience preferred.
- Strong verbal & written communication, with ability to take complex concepts and communicate clearly, accurately, and persuasively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and other technology tools, including importing and exporting data to and from systems. Acumatica ERP experience preferred.
- Proactive and aggressive in solving problems as well as recognizing and acting on opportunities, including making processes more efficient.

Travel Requirements
- This position does not require overnight travel
