What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at Stavis Seafoods?
We are looking for an Inventory Specialist to oversee the day-to-day integrity of inventory records while supporting the movement of products across multiple third-party warehouse locations. This position plays a key role in ensuring inventory information is reliable, timely, and aligned with business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify inventory balances and maintain accurate records for a large product portfolio exceeding 1,000 SKUs.
- Review daily inventory activity, identify inconsistencies, and coordinate with warehouse partners to resolve discrepancies.
- Enter and validate inventory transactions within the ERP system, including transfers, adjustments, and other stock movements.
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, and month-end inventory reconciliation activities.
- Ensure product information—including lot codes, expiration dates, country of origin, weights, and case pack details—is maintained accurately.
- Support inventory rotation practices by monitoring product shelf life and promoting compliance with FEFO standards.
- Generate recurring and ad hoc inventory reports to support operational planning and decision-making.
- Work closely with Operations, Purchasing, Customer Service, and external warehouse providers to ensure inventory records remain current and accurate.
- Recommend process improvements that strengthen inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Experience
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain.
- Previous experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers is preferred.
- Experience within the food manufacturing, food distribution, or cold storage industry is a plus.
Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar inventory management software is highly desirable.
- Ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies with a high degree of accuracy.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year
