As a Student Services Advisor, you will serve as a trusted resource throughout each student's educational journey—from orientation through graduation. You will provide personalized coaching, academic support, tuition planning, and ongoing encouragement while working collaboratively with faculty and staff to promote student success and retention.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Helps to plan, organize, and implement student success and retention strategies of the College including all student engagement events.
· Coordinates retention plans with faculty, staff, and other departments.
· Coordinate campus re-entry campaigns and work with students who have dropped to reenter and complete their program. Ensure campus re-entry budgets are achieved and ensure all appropriate paperwork (Admissions and Financial Aid) are completed timely and accurately.
· Encourages students’ success with coaching through regularly scheduled advising sessions.
· Assists in tracking results of the student experience within committees and college groups.
· Supports campus-based orientation and LAB sessions for ground students
· Reaches out regularly to current and past students, through phone, email, or other communication tools to keep the students actively engaged
· Collects, prepares, maintains, and analyzes retention metric data.
· Supports the tuition planning and collection process for assigned students with regular communication and review.
· Performs additional related duties as assigned and needed.
· Communicate effectively and cooperate with faculty, staff, and other departments.
· Perform other responsibilities and duties as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Associates degree OR three years equivalent experience and education. Must have minimum of a High School diploma or GED required.
- Strong customer service experience required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work a flexible day and evening schedule and some weekends required.
- Any applicable and related experience and education in the field of student success preferred
- Experience with personal development or life skills coaching and development are beneficial.
- Ability to multi-task and change project priorities
- Flexibility and the ability to complete assigned project(s)
- Ability to work independently to self-start and self-monitor work projects
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing, required
- Ability to balance urgency of assignments and timelines
- Ability to create relationships and trust via telephone, video, electronic communications and in person
- Team player with positive outlook on making an impact on the lives of others. Perform other duties as assigned.
