Library Assistant II: Communications Assistant
The Staunton Public Library proudly serves the city as a hub of literacy, lifelong learning and community. If you’re looking for meaningful part-time work, consider joining our team! We’re hiring a part-time Communications Assistant to coordinate publicity and marketing materials to promote public library services, resources and events. This position will be responsible for creating brochures, flyers and social media content, along with other marketing items. It will occasionally assist with programs and outreach events. If you love content creation, collaboration and have a passion for public libraries, this role will keep you energized and inspired.
This Communications Assistant will work 18 hours per week divided over three workdays as agreed upon with the supervisor. Work hours will primarily take place Tuesday - Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. with occasional evening or weekend shifts.
This position requires excellent communication and writing skills, as well as a keen attention to detail to help expand the reach of Staunton Public Library in the community. Excellent computer skills and previous experience managing social media required. Candidates with Spanish language knowledge are encouraged to apply.
Hourly wages start at $18.23/hour with annual paid holidays plus two personal holidays; no health or retirement benefits. Anticipated start date will be early June.
