Job Overview
Stats with Emma is a hybrid tutoring service providing flexible supplementary education locally in St. Pete and nationwide via Zoom. We are seeking 1-2 professional tutors to help us keep up with the demand of our growing business. We are known for being kind, supportive, and providing an excellent service with clear, measurable results.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an independent contractor position. Hours are not guaranteed and depend on demand. This is ideal for someone who already works full-time and is interested in adding a few hours per week, or someone with other contract-based or part-time work.
Expectations (IMPORTANT)
- Respond to tutor requests within four hours.
- Update your shared calendar daily so we are aware of your availability.
Duties
- Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions
- Assist students in understanding subject-specific content
- Utilize learning technology to enhance teaching methods
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Provide feedback to students/parents on performance
- Approach each tutoring session with a friendly, upbeat attitude to help put students at ease
- Record a summary of each session in your timesheet
Qualifications
- Experience with 1-1 tutoring instruction
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey information
- Familiarity with Zoom
- Ability to educate students across different age groups and academic levels
- Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with colleagues and/or clients across multiple time zones
- Experience with other high school math/science subjects (precalculus, calculus, trigonometry, chemistry - the more subjects you are familiar with, the more students you will be offered)
- Master's degree or math-focused Bachelor's degree
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
