Server / bartender

Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly and professional, experienced server to join our team. Prior experience in a full-service restaurant is required; bartending experience is preferred as we are also working to build flexibility in coverage for our bartending team.

Station House Cafe was established in Point Reyes Station in 1964 and in its seventh consecutive decade continues to welcome visitors from the Greater Bay Area, international tourists and an established, wonderful local clientele. It is an eclectic crowd in a beautiful location. Our staff is established, warm and welcoming. If you love hospitality, are available to work a minimum of 18 hours per week and have solid experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant and bar, we would love to meet you and discuss the possibility of working together soon.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately using a hand-held Toast POS system.
• Work well in a team-oriented, highly cooperative environment.
• If and when filling in for bar shifts, prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including cocktails, wine, craft beers, and non-alcoholic options, following established recipes and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards. Be certified with both Food Handlers Certificate and Responsible Beverage Server training as required by the state of California.
• Be eager and curious about food and beverage details and have the ability to describe and offer our full menu to guests.

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or hospitality industry roles, specifically as a server and/or bartender.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Skill in mixology, beverage recipe development, wine knowledge, and spirits expertise is preferred but not required.
• Ability to manage time effectively during high-volume service periods while multitasking seamlessly.
• Familiarity with food handling safety standards and proper cash handling procedures.
• Experience with banquet service or catering is a plus but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.

Pay: $16.90 - $60.00 per hour
