Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team! Responsibilities
· Assist in opening and closing the store
· Ensure compliance with Station Auto Parts policies, safety standards and loss prevention procedures
· Maintain store appearance, merchandising and planograms
· Support inventory control, stocking and cycle counts
· Provide professional customer service to DIY and professional (commercial) customers
· Assist customers with parts lookup, diagnostics and product recommendations
· Handle customer issues, returns and escalations
· Support sales goals, promotions and loyalty programs
· Assist with training, coaching and supervising store employees
· Help schedule staff and ensure proper coverage
· Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment
· Step in as acting Store Manager when needed
· Help manage incoming shipments and vendor orders
· Monitor inventory levels and assist with replenishment
· Ensure accurate pricing and product placement
· Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School diploma or GED
· 1-3 years of retail experience (automotive parts preferred)
· Basic automotive knowledge (parts, tools, systems)
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Valid driver’s license (some stores require this for deliveries)
· Previous supervisory or key-holder experience
· Experience with NAPA systems or automotive retail software
· ASE parts certification (or willingness to obtain)
· Leadership and teamwork
· Time management and organization
· Problem-solving and decision making
· Sales and customer-focused mindset
· Basic computer and POS system skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
· Frequent bending, stooping, reaching and kneeling
· Ability to lift, carry, push and pull automotive parts and supplies weighing up to 50 lbs
· Use of hands and fingers for handling, sorting and stocking parts
· Ability to operate a computer, keyboard and point-of-sale system
· Visual acuity sufficient for reading parts labels, screens and printed materials
· Ability to hear and communicate clearly with customers and coworkers in a retail environment
· Ability to climb ladders or step stools to retrieve or stock inventory
· Ability to work in a warehouse and retail environment with varying temperatures, dust and noise levels
