Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and safety-conscious CDL Hazmat Driver Class A to join our dedicated transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport hazardous materials and freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle specialized cargo will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties

• Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, tankers, flatbeds, and other specialized equipment, ensuring compliance with all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
• Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following strict hazardous materials regulations, ensuring proper documentation and handling procedures.
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning deliveries along OTR routes and managing route driving schedules.
• Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit and delivery.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking manual transmissions, brakes, tires, lights, and hazardous material containment.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries, report issues promptly, and ensure smooth logistics cargo handling.

Requirements

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on hazardous materials transportation and delivery driving.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols related to truck loading/unloading and manual handling.
• Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and handle various types of trailers such as refrigerated trailers, tankers, flatbeds, dump trucks or roll-off trucks.
• Experience with route planning using GPS navigation systems for over-the-road (OTR) routes.
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes including load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
• Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety during long-haul trips across diverse terrains.
• Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks required for loading/unloading freight safely.

Pay: $2,000.00 - $2,500.00 per week
