Position Summary

Bible Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Christian Academy are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and trustworthy Janitor & Maintenance employee to maintain a clean, safe, functional, and welcoming environment throughout the church and school facilities.

This position is responsible for routine cleaning, sanitation, general building maintenance, and upkeep of the facilities while helping ensure the buildings and grounds are ready for church services, school activities, and special events.

Janitorial Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, and maintain floors.
• Empty trash and replace liners as needed.
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms and restock supplies.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, doors, fixtures, and other areas as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly appearance throughout the facilities.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for church, school, and special events as needed.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties and checklists in a timely manner.

Maintenance Responsibilities

• Perform general building and facility maintenance as needed.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, damage, safety concerns, or needed repairs.
• Perform minor repairs and basic maintenance when qualified to do so.
• Replace light bulbs and perform basic fixture maintenance.
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks as appropriate.
• Maintain and organize maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Help maintain the exterior of the church and school buildings and grounds.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and other items when needed.
• Help prepare facilities for seasonal activities, special events, and school functions.
• Coordinate with outside contractors or service providers when directed.
• Maintain a safe and functional environment for students, staff, church members, and guests.

Qualifications & Expectations

• Must be dependable, punctual, and responsible.
• Must be able to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently.
• Must demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
• Must be able to communicate appropriately with staff, students, church members, and visitors.
• Must be physically able to perform routine janitorial and maintenance duties, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and moving cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Must be willing to learn and perform a variety of general maintenance tasks.
• Must properly use and care for cleaning supplies, tools, equipment, and facility property.
• Must follow all church and school safety policies and procedures.
• Must maintain a clean, professional, and appropriate appearance while on the property.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Previous janitorial, custodial, maintenance, or facilities experience is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This position serves both Bible Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Christian Academy. The employee will work in an environment that includes children, students, staff, church members, and the general public. Maintaining a safe, clean, respectful, and professional environment is an essential part of this position.

Compensation

$15.00 per hour
40 hours per week

Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check and meeting the expectations and requirements of Bible Baptist Church and Bible Baptist Christian Academy.
