FORKLIFT OPERATOR - Swing

SUMMARY:  Drive forklift Prefinish line.  Coordinates and prioritizes to maximize productivity at both work centers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Forklift certified with the ability to operate the forklift safely in a confined space with heavy foot traffic.
2. Maintain forklift at all times and practice good housekeeping standards.
3. Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to organize.  
4. Work independently of others, stay focused to tasks and be self-motivated
5. Adhere to all forklift safety rules.
6. Quickly and safely clears finished material from end of prefinish line and move it to proper location for next process.
7. Must be able to handle finished material without damaging.
8. Organize and prioritize workflow and material to banding stalls.
9. Read and follow schedule.
10. Support the team in achieving all Safety, Production and Quality goals.
11. Support and maintain all 5S or Kaizen programs.
12. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Experience handling prefinished sheet goods is a plus.
3. Must possess an active States forklift certification card
4. Must be able to work in a team environment
5. Prior forklift experience, with good forklift driving skills

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

1. Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
2. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
3. Must have good communication and listening skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

1. Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

REASONING ABILITY:

1. Ability to understanding and carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
2. Ability to define problems and draw a valid conclusion enabling you to work towards and/or implement necessary solutions to fix problem.
3. Ability to prioritize work center tasks to ensure maximum productivity under competing priorities.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

1. Use of personal protective equipment is required at all times.  (Hearing protection and safety glasses)
2. Frequent getting on and off the jitney
3. Occasional contact with lubricants and propane.
4. At times can be very fast paced and stressful. 
5. General mill environment.  High noise, dust, forklift and pedestrian traffic.

Salary : $24 - $25
