What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACE Program Coach (Part-Time) position at State University of New York at Plattsburgh?
This position will provide individual academic and personal support to an assigned group of students as they progress through the Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) Program. The ACE Program is a baccalaureate completion program based on the principles of the successful CUNY Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP). The successful candidate is expected to work 20 hours per week. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to; delivering comprehensive advisement support services to an assigned group of students through degree completion, reviewing student progress and tracking student use of academic support services, conducting regular outreach to faculty and other college staff as needed to support student success, maintaining accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs, and organizing periodic special events and programs for students, faculty, and staff. ACE is designed to increase timely graduation rates by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students face. Key ACE program features include intentional academic advising, small class size, required full-time study, and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid-eligible students, yearly textbook assistance, and more.
