Parts Clerk
Kansas City, KS | Full-Time | On-Site$20 per hour, based on experience
Who We're Looking: We're a small family-owned, independent shop, and you'd be supporting our on-Highway truck service department working on Freightliner, Ford, and other makes. This is a back counter role: your customers are our service writer and technicians, and your job is to keep them supplied so repair jobs never sit waiting on parts.
What You'll Do:
- Assist our service writer with day-to-day parts support for Freightliner, Ford, and other on-Highway
- Source parts from vendors and suppliers, comparing price and availability to get the right part at the right price
- Handle special-order and backordered parts; track them, follow up, and let the shop know when they land
- Receive shipments, verify orders and quantities against packing slips, and stock incoming parts
- Put parts on service tickets accurately so repair orders stay clean and billable
- Keep inventory accurate
- Process cores, warranty parts, returns, and damaged parts, and follow up so credits actually come back
- Work directly with ownership to improve how we procure parts and manage inventory
What You Bring:
- 2 years of parts counter experience at NAPA, O'Reilly, AutoZone, or a similar auto parts store
- Strong customer service skills; here your customers are internal: our technicians and service writer, plus the vendors you'll work every day
- Comfortable on a computer looking up parts in catalogs and inventory systems
- Organized and accurate
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet most of the day
