These positions are headquartered at our Milwaukee Office and will have the option to work hybrid for up to five (5) days per week. This schedule may change based on training or operational needs. Employees need to report to the 635 N 26 St. Milwaukee, WI office on their first day for onboarding and orientation.

Position Summary
This position provides accountability and oversight of the Wisconsin Shares Program by serving as a lead worker and ensuring staff’s awareness and compliance with the state and federal laws, administrative rules and policies by reviewing quality standards within the authorization unit.
This position completes the process for ensuring that eligible children and parents participating in the Wisconsin Shares program are authorized for the appropriate hours of care with a certified or licensed provider in compliance with state and federal law and requirements. This position is responsible for reviewing child care eligibility, ensuring the parent has provided accurate and complete verification documents, applying appropriate state and federal policy, and completing authorizations in a timely manner.
This position is required to perform case reviews to ensure that authorizations are being issued appropriately and in compliance with state and federal laws, administrative rules and policies in a call center environment.
Additionally, this position serves as the main point of contact for the unit and other community partners (e.g., parents, foster parent agencies, W-2, etc.). It coordinates efforts with Department of Health Services, State of Wisconsin offices parallel to MECA, and other internal and external community partners regarding authorization issues.

Salary Information
The classification title for these positions are Child Care Subsidy Specialist - Advanced. The starting salary is between $28.00 and $30.47 per hour ($58,240 and $63,377 annually), depending on qualifications. Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment.
The pay schedule/range is 12-63. A one-year probationary period may be required.

Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.

- Experience providing technical assistance, troubleshooting system issues, and/or providing training to internal and/or external stakeholders
- Experience determining eligibility for a public benefits program (Child Care Subsidy, Medicare, Medicaid, FoodShare, etc.)
- Experience serving formally or informally as a team lead, lead worker, mentor and/or trainer (having new employees observe work or shadow for training purposes, providing peer to peer review or feedback)
- Experience determining eligibility for Wisconsin Shares
- Experience as a project lead and/or serving as an agency representative within a workgroup or project (providing status updates to stakeholders, providing policy or process advice to stakeholders and explaining impact of changes, creating project timelines, etc.)
- Experience conducting quality assurance reviews to ensure organizational standards are met (reviewing work for accuracy, reviewing for compliance with policy and/or procedure)
