This position is headquartered at the State Patrol Academy at 95 S 10th Ave, Fort McCoy, WI.

Residency for this position is 60 miles from the State Patrol Academy.

Position Summary


The State Patrol Academy Sergeant is vital to the operation of the Academy. The State Patrol Academy Sergeant is responsible for determining training needs, development, implementation, administration, presentation, and evaluation of training programs. These programs are presented to State Patrol personnel, in addition to federal, county, and local law enforcement officers and support personnel, as well as non-law enforcement civilian and military students. The Academy has oversight of all Division of State Patrol training, which includes training conducted at the regional level and courses conducted at the Academy itself.

The State Patrol Academy Sergeant is responsible for the coordination and management of facilities, financial resources, materials and support personnel in relation to the Academy training calendar and unanticipated training needs. Academy Sergeants serve in a technical advisory capacity to Division administrative personnel, Field Operations, and other law enforcement on training and enforcement related issues.

Salary Information


This position is in schedule-range with a rate up to $54.26 per hour, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications


A qualified candidate must meet both minimum requirements: 1) successful completion of the "Cadet" training program at the State Patrol Academy located at Fort McCoy, WI and is certified as a sworn Law Enforcement Officer (or eligible for immediate recertification) and 2) completion of the State Patrol Trooper/ Inspector probationary period.
