The Bureau of Human Resources (BHR), Region 2 is currently recruiting to fill a Human Resources Specialist Limited Term Employment vacancy. This position will be located at the Department of Corrections (DOC) central office in Madison, Wisconsin. Region 2 provides HR services to the DOC.

NOTE: LTE positions are limited to working a total of 1039 hours over a period of 12 months. Candidates must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin in order to be considered.

Position Summary


This position provides professional, technical, and administrative support assistance within the Bureau of Human Resources, Region 2 program area and performs a wide variety of duties related to staffing, recruitment, selection, and records management. Specifically, this LTE position’s primary responsibility will be focusing on assisting with HR responsibilities with the Division of Community Corrections Human Resources team.

Salary Information


The starting pay is between $27.00 and $37.17 per hour. The pay schedule/range is 81-04.

Job Details


Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship) at the time of application. Region 2 will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

NOTE: This position will work about 20 hours per week and is eligible to work remotely one day a week. This will be discussed with the supervisor upon appointment. This position may travel to other DOC sites as needed.

Qualifications


Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

  • Performing staffing and recruitment activities (posting jobs, coordinating interviews, applicant liaison, etc.)
  • Performing related HR functions (classification, compensation, reviewing position descriptions, etc.)
  • Utilizing software programs (MS Word, Excel, etc.) to create reports, memos, etc.
  • Using a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) such as PeopleSoft, SAP, ADP, etc.
