Minimum Qualifications
TRAINING: Graduation from a standard four-year high school or the equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Six years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in secretarial work, two years must have included administrative support or complex clerical duties.
SUBSTITUTION: Successful full-time study in an accredited college or university, or resident business or vocational school training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing the following duties:
- Provides administrative, legal secretarial, and related confidential duties for the Deputy Commissioner/General Counsel and Legal Division, as needed.
- Assists General Counsel in all matters requiring support such as scheduling, drafting letters, reports, orders and other documents, travel approval and reimbursement, and technical proof reading and correction on drafts of legislation.
- Obtains and composes information for annual reports.
- Maintains calendar for the legislative session and rulemaking deadlines.
- Supports the work of the Legal Division by working directly with the legislative committee, counsel and staff and the Secretary of State’s office and Department of Revenue.
- Tracks all insurance related legislation during the session.
- Coordinates with the Department of Revenue and Secretary of State on rule filing requirements.
- Files all agency rules with the Secretary of State on the e-filing system.
- Composes letters and memorandums.
- Prepares and processes emergency orders.
- Processes and oversees distribution of informational letters, insurance bulletins, and notices.
- Processes public hearing and meeting notices with the Secretary of State to ensure compliance.
- Establishes and revises forms, procedures, formats, and standards for office procedures and correspondence.
- Tracks and maintains all confidential employee grievance files.
- Assists with administrative support for the Executive Division.
- Provides support to the Workers’ Compensation Industrial Counsel and Permanent Total Disability Review Board.
- Assists attorneys with CLE registration and presentations for CLE or other industry/consumer groups.
- Assists with the hiring packets and interview scheduling for new hires in the Legal Division.
- Maintains a litigation status report and maintains files for agency’s outside litigation.
- Performs legal research and agency historical research regarding insurance related issues and administrative issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
