This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of court operations across Washington State by improving efficiency, strengthening integrity, and enhancing the experience of court users.

In this senior position, you will support and improve processes, programs, and services for both internal teams and court partners. You’ll guide courts through change management, strategic planning, workflow improvement, and business process redesign, collaborating with AOC divisions to ensure coordinated support as courts modernize operations within Washington’s non-unified system.

We are looking for a highly motivated and organized professional skilled in documenting impacts, outcomes, and operational changes. You will prepare clear reports that communicate findings, decisions, and recommendations to courts and stakeholders.

You will assist leaders and administrators in navigating change, strengthening strategic direction, and making informed, data-driven decisions. You will also design and deliver training and professional development to build statewide capacity and promote operational excellence.

If you’re energized by meaningful work and ready to make a statewide impact, we’d love to meet you.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Some of the duties you will perform are:

  • Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate court programs with significant operational impact.
  • Manage complex, inter-jurisdictional projects; conduct research and analysis; and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Support courts and AOC partners with evidence-based practices, change management, strategic planning, and operational improvements.
  • Analyze proposed legislation and assess its impact on court programs and statewide operations.
  • Lead operational assessments, redesign business processes, and deliver clear, actionable reports and recommendations.
  • Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance on workflow, case flow management, technology adoption, and operational best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in court administration, public administration, political science, business administration or closely allied field;
  • Five (5) years of responsible experience in court administration and/or program development, including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead role and/or managing/directing groups or teams.

Relevant experience may substitute for the required education.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven ability to set goals, create timelines, manage multiple projects, and maintain accountability for high-quality, timely work.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Outlook, Word, OneNote, and PowerPoint, at a level that supports advanced consulting, operational analysis, report development and project work.
  • Independent, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with strong skills in documenting impacts and producing clear, accurate reports.
  • Collaborative team member who works effectively across divisions and with court partners to advance shared operational goals.
  • Mission-driven focus on improving court operations and supporting timely, effective, and equitable justice.
  • Strong analytical abilities for understanding partner needs, evaluating complex information, and developing practical, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of Washington’s non-unified court system, including laws, procedures, stakeholders, and trends in court administration across all jurisdictional levels.
  • NCSC Institute for Court Management certification (CCM or CCE) preferred.
