Our Information Services Division (ISD) is recruiting for a project driven entry level IT Application Developer!
We are one of the most public facing state agencies and the second largest revenue generating agency in Washington State. As our Application Developer, you will use your expertise in software systems, web services, data interfaces, databases, and advanced development techniques to support this team's projects. Working with other developers, you will write code and ensure applications function properly. You will troubleshoot issues and provide solutions. With strong communication skills and systems knowledge, you will convey timelines and changes to management and users. In an entry-level role, you will consult on and support application development across divisions. Finding your own motivations while working independently and facilitating the solutions that drive our work is critical. Overall, you will provide technical support and development for the department's application environment.Some of what you will do:
- Perform complex assignments on projects using appropriate tools and technologies.
- Contribute to the implementation of complex development efforts.
- Research and recommend appropriate technology and tools to accomplish the development efforts.
- Collaborate with information services units to determine the overall design, structure, interface, and performance of solutions.
- Ensure development standards are followed.
- Lead development work efforts for implementation of small projects.
- Four (4) years of combined relevant education and experience analyzing, designing, or developing computer systems applications or databases.
- The ability to:

What may set you apart:
- Five (5) years of experience as a Software Developer.
- Development experience with the following tools and/or technologies:
- XML
- JavaScript
- VB.NET
- C#
- SQL Reporting Services, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), Web Services, SQL, Visual Studio (VS)
Additional Conditions of employment:
- This position will operate onsite at our Olympia, WA office location multiple times a month.
