What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSHS DDA Developmental Disabilities Outstation Manager position at State of Washington?

Developmental Disabilities Administration is looking for an Outstation Manager to join our team in Omak, WA. If your passion is to serve community members with Developmental Disabilities, consider this exciting opportunity. In this role you'll manage an outstation office and represent the administration at local meetings with providers, stakeholders, and local government agencies. You'll also provide an advanced level of social services and specialized case management for people who have developmental disabilities and their families - offering quality supports and services through assessment and referral to appropriate resources.
 
Some of what you'll be doing: 
  • Manage a caseload of people with disabilities who receive services
  • Act as a lead worker for staff at the Toppenish office
  • Assess, develop service plans, authorize payments to providers for services, complete necessary documentation related to actions taken, request extra services if appropriate
  • Coordinate services with other agencies or providers
  • Identify support needs and plan for appropriate services
  • Complete and revise client assessments and service plans within established timelines
  • Refer clients to other appropriate department services or other community programs
  • Verify eligibility for various programs and services, including financial eligibility
  • Establish and maintain complete and accurate case files

What we're looking for: 
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to assess and identify social dynamics between clients and families and/or other relationships
  • Ability to identify crisis and/or complex issues and refer appropriately
  • Ability to listen, clarify and follow directives, especially the ability to absorb new information and act on it

Who should apply:  
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Developmental Disabilities Case Resource Manager within DSHS 
OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in social sciences, social services, human services, behavioral sciences or an allied field AND at least three years of experience providing social services to people with developmental disabilities.
Graduate training in social science, social services, human services, behavioral sciences or an allied field will substitute for one year of the experience providing social services to people with developmental disabilities.
