What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSHS BHHA Physician 3 position at State of Washington?
The Behavioral Health & Habilitation Administration (BHHA) is seeking a Physician to join our Electronic Health Records (EHR) team. Physicians with experience in inpatient psychiatric and developmental disability settings, as well as those from all clinical backgrounds and specialties, are encouraged to apply. We are participating in a statewide effort to implement Epic and therefore also encourage Physicians to apply who have prior experience with Epic implementations. In this role you will work with various medical staff members across all BHHA to help implement the EHR. After implementation, you will provide on going specialized support for the maintenance of the EHR system through the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of program functionality, technical requirements, and training needs.
This job will be largely remote, with on-site requirements across all BHHA facilities in Washington state on an occasional basis. On-site presence will be essential during training, go-live, and at other key milestones during implementation.

- Make decisions, as a representative of BHHA practitioners, for the alignment of workflows, processes, forms, and assessments to the foundational EHR system
- Establish and maintain solid collegial relationships with practitioners across BHHA
- Direct/guide practitioners in the policy/adoption of new workflow processes, forms, assessments and other tools
- Understand and articulate current state primary facility workflows at assigned location(s) and apply a longitudinal understanding of end-to-end processes
- Advocate for standardized solutions that deliver high quality care
- Work to identify best practices and to reduce unnecessary variation with similar clinical workflows and clinical technologies
- Promote EHR-related activities and encourage implementation and adoption of the EHR
- Support technical teams by providing clinical perspective in analyzing complex technology issues
- Work with staff to consult and assist in process improvement opportunities
Who should apply?
