The Opportunity
WSDOT is currently seeking a Terminal Maintenance Manger to provide leadership, direction, knowledge, and accountability, the terminal maintenance manager directs and supervises all terminal related work assigned to Eagle Harbor. This includes work scope, scheduling, coordination, execution, safety, environmental, personnel, materials, and information management. This position ensures the safe, effective and efficient use of resources pertaining to the repair and maintenance of WSF assets with an emphasis on terminal related work. This position will play an essential role in advancing WSF’s core values – Serve, Grow, Trust, Respect, and Navigate.
What to Expect
Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, you/the Terminal Maintenance Manager will:
- Review, assign, create, update and track work orders using CMMS.
- Serve as the central point of contact for all terminal work assigned to Eagle Harbor.
- Identify staffing needs, sequence of activities, materials, equipment, schedules, and job plans.
- Understand, enforce, and adhere to applicable collective bargaining agreements.
- Properly store, handle and dispose of sensitive documents.
- Provide administrative services, including requesting engineering assistance, managing projects, identifying vendors, recommending purchases, and administering budgets.
- Initiate, review, and approve or reject purchase requisitions and work orders.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, laws, safety and environmental regulations, and building codes.
Qualifications
To be considered for this opportunity, the following competencies are required:
- Valid Licensing & Credentials: Possession of a valid driver’s license and a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
- Technical Building Knowledge: Understanding of current building practices and safety standards
- Project Coordination: Ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity simultaneously.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication in English.
- Stress Tolerance & Professionalism: Ability to remain poised and tactful in high-pressure or stressful situations.
- Cultural Competency: Ability to bridge social, economic, and cultural divides and appreciate different perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Building Maintenance & Construction Experience: Demonstrated hands-on experience with facility maintenance, repair, and construction projects.
- Supervisory & Management Experience: Proven track record of effectively leading teams, managing staff, assigning work, and making personnel decisions.
- Budgeting & Financial Management: Experience with budget planning, monitoring expenditures, and managing procurement processes.
- Performance Feedback & Staff Development: Ability to provide professional, constructive feedback and support employee performance.
