Job Highlights

This position functions within the Investigations Program and the Legal Services program. This position reports to the unit Supervisor. This position is also matrix-managed with the Customer Service, Compliance, and Public Safety program so that both program practices and procedures used are understood and followed.
Further, this position supports the mission to prevent abuse of the workers’ compensation system and protect the economic vitality of Washington State. This position primarily investigates fraud, theft, or other unlawful activity conducted by injured workers, while serving as a reviewing party to incoming referrals made to the investigations program.

Duties

Some of what you will do:
  • Conduct complex civil investigations under the Industrial Insurance Act (RCW 51)
concerning allegations of claimant fraud on a wide range of benefit eligibility issues,
which may include Washington, adjoining states, and Canada. These investigations
include the following types of assignments: Miscellaneous assignments (e.g. police
reports, medical documents, collision reports, payroll information, address locates, and death certificates).
  • Review, analyze, and filter incoming investigation referrals received in the Investigations Case Management System.
  • Prepare quality, detailed and accurate written communications.
  • And so much more!

Qualifications

Required:

One year of experience as a Claims Representative.

OR

One year of experience as an investigator with a criminal justice government agency or private organization, or other directly allied field


Note:
Two years of related college-level course work may be substituted for one year of experience.

Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver license.
