Overview

Are you a people person who also likes numbers? Do you want to help Vermonters access funding to improve their residential water systems? The Agency of Natural Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Administrator to help administer the Healthy Homes Initiative and other American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funded programs. This staff member will join the dedicated Finance & Administration team supporting the Secretary's Office. The ideal candidate is a positive communicator and relationship builder who brings strong interpersonal and communication skills, financial management experience, Excel expertise, and an interest in helping others.

This position is primarily responsible for:
* Leading beneficiaries through the account set up process for the Healthy Homes program and other ARPA funded programs
* Determining the most effective method of communication to help applicants successfully navigate administrative systems to receive funding
* Processing purchase requests and invoices for the Agency
* Monitoring expenses and preparing financial reports
* Assisting in maintaining appropriate fiscal controls, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.

The Agency of Natural Resources Secretary's Office currently operates in a hybrid working environment, supporting remote work as well as days in which staff are in the office. Environmental Factors

Work is performed in a standard office setting.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of professional experience in accounting involving maintaining, reviewing, and analyzing accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards.

OR

Associate's degree in accounting, business administration, office administration or a related field AND four (4) years of professional experience in accounting, maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards
OR

Bachelor's degree in accounting AND one (1) year of accounting experience maintaining, reviewing, analyzing and accounting or financial data and records to ensure compliance with accepted accounting practices and standards
OR
Two (2) year as a Financial Administrator II with the State of Vermont.


NOTE: CPA certificate is considered qualifying.

For some positions preference may be given to applicants with supervisory experience.

Special Requirements

For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system)may be required.
