UHMIS is a statewide web-based database that is used to track services provided to Utahns experiencing homelessness at non-profits and governmental agencies across the state through a contract with a local software vendor.
Principal Duties
- Manage and update UHMIS monitoring procedures, conducting audits and policy reviews across contributing organizations
- Assist the OHS Data Manager and UHMIS security officer to review monitoring, ensure reporting consistency, and implement data collection standards.
- Serve as the primary data specialist for key funding sources, ensuring compliance with all federal regulations, funding source requirements, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with contract owners to define, measure, and review performance metrics for OHS grantees quarterly and annually.
- Support the creation, analysis, and presentation of major annual federal and state reports
- Provide technical assistance, training, and strategic support to state grantees, Local Homeless Councils (LHCs), and Continua of Care.
- Provide support and technical assistance to organizations throughout the state; presenting to the Utah Homeless Services Board, Continua of Care, and Local Homeless Councils as requested;
- Communicate data insights clearly—both verbally and in writing - with organizations’ executive leadership and program staff about homelessness data;
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has:
- Professional experience and working knowledge of homelessness services, homelessness data, and state homelessness strategies;
- Intermediate to advanced skills with data review and analysis;
- Intermediate to advanced skills in data quality and policy monitoring;
- Demonstrated talent and ability to learn new technologies and implement them successfully;
- Experience writing correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials;
- Excellent communication skills; including the ability to convey complex and technical information clearly to non-technical audiences;
- Self-motivation with the ability to prioritize, pay attention to details, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
