If so, you are just the person we are looking for to fill our Office Specialist - Return Utah position with the Utah Antidiscrimination and Labor Division (UALD).
The Return Utah program is similar to an internship designed for adults looking to re-enter the workforce after an extended absence. These opportunities are structured as return-to-work positions that provide the experience, training, skills, and mentoring an individual needs to return to the workforce.
Return Utah is a 16-week program for people who have taken a career break for at least two years or more for reasons such as starting or raising a family, caring for a family member, chronic illness, enhanced education, other personal/career related needs, etc. Those serving, separated, or retired from military service and their spouses and/or partners are not required to meet the two-year requirement. In addition, those who are underemployed at the time of application are eligible for Return Utah jobs.
**This position is NOT eligible for telework.

In this position you will provide administrative support to UALD. Your duties may include, but not be limited to the following:
- Responding to telephone, face-to-face, and written inquiries.
- Scheduling appointments.
- Demonstrating a working knowledge of basic computer skills and agency-used software applications.
- Entering data, accurately, into agency software.
- Sorting, labeling, filing, and retrieving documents and other materials.
- Verifies data entry by comparing the source document against input data, utilizing an automated verification system, using dual entry or other verification techniques.
- Edits written material for accuracy, format, and arrangement of material.
- Reviews data, records, and files for detail and accuracy.
- Monitor, track, and follow up on documentation, case files or other assignments to ensure appropriate timelines are met and action completed.

- Possess a friendly and positive disposition.
- Have the ability to communicate with people from all walks of life, verbally and in writing.
- Have the ability to complete work in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google docs and sheets.

- Fluency in Spanish (in addition to English).
- Prior customer service experience.
- Work experience in a legal environment.

- DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
