This position maintains buildings, fences, roads, signs, water developments, and other infrastructure and land owned by DWR. The position also restores wildlife habitat and supervises seasonal staff.

Utah Division of Wildlife ResourcesAs the Building and Grounds Supervisor, you will:- Oversee the operation and maintenance of DWR facilities.
- Oversee the maintenance of wildlife management areas. This includes herbicide application, fence and road construction and maintenance, water trough and guzzler construction and maintenance, and sign installation.
- Transport and operate construction equipment and OHVs.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and tools.
- Consult on job orders, including the development of project plans and related estimates.
- Build, fabricate, or repair structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous items.
- Weld, solder, braze, grind, and/or fabricate various materials.
- Perform painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, as well as general cleaning and sanitation.
- Recruit, train, and supervise employees.
- Draft reports for completed projects.
- Possess a non commercial pesticide applicators permit
- Possess a commercial drivers license
- Experience in operating heavy equipment
- Experience in welding and fabrication
- Experience in building and maintaining wildlife guzzlers
- Working knowledge of the Wildlife Inventory Maintenance System (WIMS)
- Directly related professional construction and maintenance experience
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Ability to lead and supervise a crew on construction or maintenance projects
- Experience in supervising full time and seasonal employees
- Experience operating OHVs, backhoes, bulldozers, and hauling heavy loads
- Knowledge and experience working with and mixing herbicides
- Knowledge and experience with weed mapping
Work outside in remote locations in extreme weather conditions. Operating a variety of equipment including; Trucks, ATVs, UTVs, backhoe, and bulldozer. Some hiking and travel required. Work requires physical exertion. Requires the ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stretch, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or long periods of time.
