Job Description
The Property and Misc. Taxes Functional Area is currently seeking an Audit Technician to help provide technical supportto the audit professionals by handling a range of tasks, including:
- collecting, organizing, and analyzing audit data,
- preparing audit findings and reports,
- conducting statistical analysis to draw conclusions and make recommendations,
- sampling data,
- assisting with routine audits,
- address inquiries about audit results,
- explain complex laws, policies, and procedures, and
- ensure audit files are well-managed and up to date.
Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection and statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of audit processes, laws, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey audit findings.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or similar software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Preference may be given to those candidates that have experience processing audits and preparing documents forauditors.
- Has accounting, finance, or business experience
- Detail oriented
- Experience processing audits at the Tax Commission
- Excel experience
