Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor based in Albuquerque, NM. The counselor will provide direct services to clients, including individual and group therapy sessions, support in creating and maintaining recovery plans, and ongoing assessments to monitor progress. Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and adhering to ethical and professional standards. The role requires active participation in treatment planning and coordination with community resources to ensure holistic client care.


Qualifications

  • Current New Mexico licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC).
  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the field of addiction counseling, particularly with co-occurring disorders.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for addiction treatment and recovery support.
  • Familiarity with local community resources and networks related to substance use and mental health services.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client visits and community engagements.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and documentation standards.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
  • Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and practicing confidentiality at all times.
