WHO YOU ARE:
Budget professional who performs budget preparation and analysis work. Work Involves the planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating of budgetary activities and performance measures. You possess strong multi-tasking and organization skills. You are a critical thinker who will collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Budget Analyst IV performs advanced (senior-level) budget preparation and analysis work. Performs advanced (senior-level) budget preparation and analysis work.


YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
  • Transform raw data from queries and reports into clear, actionable insights through compilation, review, and analysis.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of submission of the strategic plan, legislative appropriations requests, fiscal notes, analysis of legislation and requests for federal funding.
  • Coordinate the preparation of budgets to provide management with expenditure data, trends, and recommendations.
  • Inform management of budget deviations, problems, and events likely to affect operations; explains causes; and measures effect on the agency’s mission and resources.
  • Prepare and/or coordinates the preparation of operating budgets.
  • May supervise others.
  • Perform related work as assigned.

YOU QUALIFY WITH:
  • Four years of full-time experience in budget preparation, accounting, auditing, financial planning or management, or positions which provided knowledge of public sector budgetary controls, administrative procedures, and related state and federal regulatory laws.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
  • Knowledge of legal restrictions governing allocation of funds, accounting, budgetary, and management principles, practices and procedures.
  • Skill in analyzing financial data, computer operations and using applicable computer software.
  • Ability to analyze fiscal management information to determine appropriate use of funds.
Perform statistical analyses.
Identify and develop budgetary reports and schedules.
Analyze management problems and develop and present solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
