Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's or higher of science or arts degree in environmental science, physical sciences (e.g. physics, chemistry, geology, meteorology), ecology, sustainability or applied science in sustainability, life sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology, agricultural science, agronomy, health physics, or biophysics), environmental health, pre-medicine, engineering or other acceptable science or natural resource related field and five years of full-time professional environmental program, natural resource conservation work or full-time professional work that involved ensuring compliance with radiation safety standardsand/or regulations. An acceptable environmental, physical, or life science degree will be considered based on assignment by the specific program area.
Substitution of a Specific Bachelor's Degree for Experience: A bachelor's degree in health physics
or nuclear engineering may substitute for one year of the required experience in the Division of Radiological Health.

Overview
This position will function as a Project Manager for the Brownfields Remediation Section working directly with communities to ensure technically sound environmental sampling, analysis, and remediation of brownfields in addition to liaising with other funding partners.

strategies supporting the re-use of brownfields across the state.

This position will function as a Project Manager for the Brownfields Remediation Section working directly with communities to ensure technically sound environmental sampling, analysis, and remediation of brownfields in addition to liaising with other funding partners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical reviews and evaluations of Phase I
Plans, Phase II ESAs, Soil Management Plans, and remediation
strategies supporting the re-use of brownfields across the state.
- Manage coordination of state involvement in the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 104(k) Brownfields Grant Program and EPA Targeted Brownfield
- Conduct technical review and evaluation of submitted documents pertaining to the Tennessee Economic Community Development (ECD) Site Development Grant Program.
- Have a working understanding of the Brownfield Voluntary Cleanup Oversight and Assistance Program (VOAP).
- Provide technical expertise to the Brownfield Redevelopment Area Grants, including reviewing budgets, applications, & scope of work.
- As a representative of the State at the project team level, speak on brownfields, environmental due diligence, and remediation.
- Conduct in-person meetings, site visits, and presentations at both in-state and out-of-state conferences as needed.
