The South Dakota Office of the Attorney General and Division of Criminal Investigation is looking for the right individual to serve as the Call Center Representative for the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification (SAVIN) program. This program was implemented in 2015. The purpose of this program was to centralize and automate the victim notifications process for the Courts, Corrections and a majority of the local jails in South Dakota through a SAVIN application and web portal. This application has the capabilities of offering minimal information through the web, as well as notifications through Phone, Text Messaging, Email, and Postal Mail.
This Position Will Work Very Closely With The SAVIN Program Coordinator In Learning And Supporting The SAVIN Program. The Normal Schedule For This Position Will Be From 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. This Position Works Heavily With The Software And Technology That It Needs In Order To Receive And Send The Appropriate Notification Information, As Well As Update The Public Website. The Right Candidate Will Benefit Greatly By Having a Solid Technical Background Of Learning And Using New Complex Software. The Person Selected For This Position Will Serve Victims And Other SAVIN Customers Of This Program By
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Minimum of an Associates Degree, at least 1 year of customer service and some experience working with or in a legal or law enforcement field.
Knowledge Of
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
This position is eligible for Veterans’ Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.

- Monitoring and addressing tasks in the SAVIN application queues.
- Contacting Victims regarding high priority notifications.
- Monitoring the SAVIN Email inbox daily and respond accordingly.
- Managing the incoming and outgoing SAVIN mail.
- Answering inbound phone calls and emails regarding:
- Questions regarding offender and notification information.
- Assisting victim and interested party registrations.
- Resetting passwords.
- Updating victim and interested party contact information.
- General SAVIN program inquiries.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
