The Division of IT is hiring an on-site Student Systems Sr. BA – Student Information Systems in Division of Information Technology (DoIT) .
Are you a problem-solver with a passion for higher education technology? Join our dynamic team at the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) as a Student Systems Senior BA supporting the Ellucian Banner Student Information System (SIS ) and its integrated applications.
About the Role:
Under the guidance of the Student Systems Program Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing enterprise-level student systems. This includes Banner SIS and related applications such as BDMS , DegreeWorks, ePrint, and FormFusion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide expert application support and consulting services to campus stakeholders.
• Lead incident triage, problem resolution, and offer best practice solutions.
• Design, test, and implement complex projects including system upgrades and application modifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop standards for incident, testing, security, and change management.
• Assist in prioritizing and planning future initiatives with management and institutional partners.

This is an on-site position located on the downtown Columbia, SC campus.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Preferred Qualifications
• At least 5 years’ experience serving as a business analyst supporting the Ellucian Student Information System, Banner 9.x, for Admissions, Financial Aid, Student, or Student Accounts Receivable in a higher education institution.
• Previous experience with Banner Workflow, Ellucian Degree Works, Atomic/UC4 job scheduling, and ServiceNow are preferred. Ability to create SQL queries is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Wide-ranging knowledge of capabilities, techniques, and intricacies of a Student Information System – including deep knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas: Admissions, Financial Aid, Student, Student Accounts Receivable, or auxiliary areas.
• Possess the capability to understand and carry out complex technical analysis, facilitate instructions and assess requests.
• Aptitude to communicate in a clear and concise manner – including the creation and execution of presentations varying in size.
• Ability to work effectively with users, business partners, vendors, IT personnel and all levels of management.
• Competence to identify and resolve differing levels of systematic issues.
• Ability to plan, direct, instruct, and review the work of technical personnel as well as facilitate complex technical projects.
• Extensive knowledge of functional and technical documentation with the aptitude to offer assistance in development.
• Working knowledge of information systems software such as internet software, spreadsheet software and word processing software as well as basic PC applications and operations – including Word, Excel, and other MS Office products.
• Project management skills.
• Identification of and adherence to IT best practices and standard operating procedures for program management are important; however, flexibility in meeting the needs of customers is also a key consideration.
