Job Duties:
- The Child Welfare Services Case Worker Assistant must possess a valid driver's license, be able and willing to drive and to transport children and adults, must be able to lift children and to interact with children and adults in a positive and supportive demeanor. Must have the ability to cope with stressful work and life threatening situations.
- Performs Child Welfare administrative services in accordance with DSS Policy, Agency Mission and GPS Practice Model.
- Authentically engages families and other professionals with empathy and respect.
- Works collaboratively with Child Welfare staff in performing administrative tasks to support families and other professional/agency partners; tasks can include, facilitating referrals, written correspondence, records request, maintaining case records, family searches, and transportation for visitation.
- Maintains an active routine of self-care and pursues support when necessary to minimize the threat of secondary trauma to physical and mental health.
- Ensures that personal identifying information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. Protects the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
- Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
- Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duties/services as directed.
An Associate Degree may be substituted for the required related experience.
