This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center, 2319 St. Matthews Road Orangeburg SC 29118.
Under general supervision of the Chief of Staff, plans, implements, coordinates and supervises the daily operations and delivery of services, for MDFT, Detention Center, TLC/Highway to Hope, Adult Services and CAF/School Based service programs for OAMHC.
- Supervisor Function: Supervise the daily operations of MDFT, Detention Center, TCL/Highway to Hope, Adult Services and CAF/School based service programs including reviewing, training, and providing oversight to ensure that staff document services in charts according to QA standards and OMH policies and procedures. Ensures that staff meet patient care hours and collaborative documentation requirements and that all services are billed appropriately. Ensure staff are knowledgeable and measured against patient care hour standards for clinical services. Ensures the use of collaborative documentation & DLA-20 for the program. Ensures the completion of Prior Authorization.
- Community Liaison: Collaborate with the Chief of Staff regarding CAF/School Base, MDFT, Detention Center, TCL/Highway to Hope, and ACT supervisors. Attend all OMH and OAMHC meetings.
- Continuity of Care: Ensure continuity of care within clinical programs and between community and hospital as specified in DMH Continuity of Care Manual.
- Corporate Compliance: The CAF programs are in conformance with SCDMH Corporate Compliance. All staff shall comply
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Master's degree in social sciences & 4 years of postgraduate experience, including at least 1 year of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, twist, and lift to 25lbs, as needed in an office/clinical environment. Must be able to travel between various locations as needed to ensure the success of all areas of responsibility.
- You are considered essential staff during all emergencies. Therefore, you will be required to be available during emergencies when instructed by management or a supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Additional Comments
Post hire, employee must:
- Be able to supervise a staff of mental health professionals.
- Have a thorough knowledge of treatment of the chronically mentally ill in a community setting required.
- Be able to organize and direct a county-wide program of mental health services.
- Be able to develop plans and procedures pertaining to the overall program development and operation of the clinic.
