This position is with the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Beckman Center for Mental Health Services, 1547 Parkway Greenwood, SC 29646.

The Mental Health Professional II will lead Beckman's Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team in providing intensive, evidence-based services, in accordance with the fidelity model, throughout Beckman's catchment area in community / home -based settings. The Team is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with serious mental illness (SMI) who require higher levels of care, as they have not, previously, been well supported in lower level of care options. 

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II (ACT Team Lead):
  • Oversee the administrative operations of the team
  • Provide clinical oversight of services ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the delivery of best and ethical practices
  • Provide direct services to ACT service beneficiaries
  • Ensure services are documented in accordance with SCOMH/QA requirements
  • Provide direct supervision to ACT team members to include but not limited to facilitating clinical supervision meetings, treatment team meetings, coordinating training for team and completing evaluations
  • A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be a qualified mental health professional, independently licensed as a psychologist, LISW-CP, LPC, or LMFT. 
  •  Must qualify for credentialing and privileging as a mental health professional and in accordance with Quality Assurance standards and with concurrence by OMH Office of Quality Management. 
  • To be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Please be sure to provide specific clinical activities on your application and/or resume.
  • Current and valid South Carolina Driver's License.
  • Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
  • Understand that this position may be deemed essential, with the potential requirement of working during center closures for crises/disasters/emergencies.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

  • Utilize practical therapeutic knowledge of principles, methods, and counseling practices and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively. 
  • Implement knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, and family and group psychotherapy.
  • Work in conjunction with families, community partners, and representatives of various disciplines to reach patient objectives.
  • Present comprehensive reports clearly, both orally and written.
  • Organize and manage time.

Salary : $61,801 - $69,985
