This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Tri-County County Community Mental Health Center, 1035 Cheraw Street, Bennettsville, SC 29512.

As the Mental Health Professional I - Highway to Hope you will be under general supervision, provide clinical mental health services to patients within a community mental health program and in accordance with the Highway to Hope TCCMHC grant. Provide service at various community locations including but not limited to mobile service on the program's recreational vehicles.
 
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I - Highway to Hope 

  • Provide community-based mental health services to TCCMHC patients, primarily children, using diverse treatment interventions and methods, such as individual, family, and group therapies, assessments, crisis interventions, and case management. Meet agency patient care hours standards. 
  • Ensure all assigned caseloads and clinical records are in accordance with SCDMH Quality Assurance (QA) standards. Adhere to Corporate Compliance policies and procedures. Act in a culturally competent manner. Comply with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in performing their job duties.
  • Utilize collaborative documentation to facilitate effective and efficient provision of therapeutic services.
  • Attend and participate in clinical treatment team staffing as scheduled. Attend total staffing, total clinical training, and CAF meetings. Participate in assigned intra-agency committees.
  • Promote Center programs and services through outreach, education, and participation in Center-sponsored and community events.

For MHP Student Loan Repayment:

This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.

Minimum Requirements

  • A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in human services or social services program. 
  • A valid driver's license. 

Additional Requirements

  • Routine local travel between three counties served (Chesterfield, Dillon and Marlboro).
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, 
  • Lifting requirement of 20 lbs. 
  • This position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Post hire, employees must: 
  • Have knowledge of and ability to assess for treatment needs, develop complex treatment plans, and provide effective clinical interventions, including crisis intervention and individual, group, and family therapies. 
  • Have knowledge of casework practices. 
  • Have the ability to organize and maintain a caseload. 
  • Have knowledge of legal principles and practices. 
  • Have knowledge of federal, state, and local laws or regulations pertaining to social service programs.

Salary : $51,039 - $59,622
