This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Columbia Area Mental Health Center (CAMHC), Adult Clinic Services, CAMHC #063.
As the Mental Health Professional, working under general supervision, you will provide intensive case management to a diverse and challenging consumer population of adults with chronic psychiatric and co-occurring disorders, with the intent to prevent or minimize hospitalization and enhance community placement.
Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:
- Deliver person-centered, evidence-based mental health services in the clinic to support client recovery, stabilization, and independence.
- Perform the function of this position in an efficient manner as evidenced by meeting productivity expectations as addressed in Productivity Protocol.
- Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in compliance with agency, state, and federal standards, including the use of Collaborative Documentation.
- Maintain competency in at least one Evidence-based Practice.
- Ensure patient functionality is measured by the DLA-20.
- Retain overall responsibility for meeting Quality Assurance standards.
- Comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements.
- A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
- Have knowledge of local agencies and facilities.
- Licensure as a LPC, LISW, etc.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Post hire, employees must:
- Have knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic, counseling, case management and recovery.
- Have good interpersonal skills to work with patients and other agencies.
- Be able to provide services to serious, persistent mentally ill persons and the dually diagnosed.
- Be able to work with families of patients.
- Be able to function independently and with minimal supervision.
- Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
