This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Columbia Area Mental Health Center, Emergency Services-Nursing, CAMHC #129.
As the Licensed Practical Nurse, working under supervision of Director of Nursing, you will provide direct patient care/direct psychiatric care/ nursing services to patients who are served at Columbia Area Mental Health Center (CAMHC). Provide nursing services for a defined targeted group requiring psychiatric nursing services in a large community mental health setting.
Responsibilities for this Licensed Practical Nurse:
- Provide an array of face-to-face or telephonic interventions nursing services to a diverse population of patients served at Columbia Area Mental Health Center (CAMHC) to promote recovery, stabilization, and independence, which includes, but not limited to, performing laboratory services, injection medication administration, SPDs with providers, checking vital signs, and health teaching training.
- Promptly perform laboratory test/procedures ordered by physician/Nurse Practitioner (NP) screening for pre-existing medical problems, etc., and ensure that the physician/NP receives all findings in a timely manner. Highlight any abnormal results and immediately reports the values to the appropriate physician/NP.
- Collect, organize, and record data and information in in the patient's medical record in accordance with applicable Quality Assurance standards, CARF guidelines and Corporate Compliance standards.
- Regularly attend and participate in treatment team meetings, supervisory meetings, Nursing In-Services, and serve on Center and Office of Mental Health (OMH) committees as assigned.
- Comply with the Office of Mental Health Compliance Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements.
- Successful completion of an approved nursing education program for professional nursing or an equivalent course of study from an approved nursing education program per Section 10-33-32 of the South Carolina Nurse Licensure Act. Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina.
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

- Have the ability to follow directions as states.
- Be able to function with limited supervision.
- Be professional.
- Be able to tolerate multiple demands and demonstrate flexibility when adapting to programmatic changes.
- Be pro-active in both, clinical and other aspects of the program.
- Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.

Salary : $47,273 - $52,178
