Job Responsibilities
The Director of Assessment will develop and manage the assessment process at Spartanburg Community College. In addition, this role will manage the annual planning process for all planning units. The Director supports the Chief Accreditation Officer in program review, programmatic accreditation, accountability reporting, and institutional accreditation.
Oversees and directs the development, implementation, analysis, and review of yearly assessment, programmatic review and planning programs (including general education assessment). Works with units to create effective outcomes and measures; assists areas in understanding findings and data analysis; helps units create action plans when needed. Ensures all reporting is complete and turned in on time. Creates yearly summaries as part of annual reporting/programmatic review.
Manages WEAVE and provides training support for faculty and staff. Serves as internal support for the WEAVE system (updates for system, adds users to system, etc.). Trains faculty and staff as needed on WEAVE system. Assists with state and SACSCOC reporting as needed.
Oversees the Learning Outcomes Committee. Meets with the LOAC committee monthly. Documents meetings and minutes. Completes paperwork and reporting to VPAA's office regarding approved SLO and PLO modifications.
Assists QEP implementation and assessment. Provides additional support to the QEP Co-Directors. Supports the QEP Development/Advisory Council. Helps with reporting as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in education, social science, mathematics, research methodology, data analytics, or a related field; and a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in higher education assessment, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness.
