Job Duties:
- The CWS Case Worker Assistant provides daily assistance and support to include transportation, family searches and engagement and concerted efforts to the CWS Case Managers in the Low Country Region in the areas of Foster Care and Adoptions.
- Collaborates with county and regional adoption staff to transport children to and from visitations, placements, court hearings and medical appointments and documenting work activity.
- Works collaboratively with child welfare staff in performing administrative tasks in accordance with DSS Policy, Agency Mission and GPS Practice Model to support families and other professionals/agency partners. Tasks can include concerted efforts and family searches and engagements.
- Authentically engages families and other professionals with empathy and support.
- Completes all necessary training for regional support tasks.
- Maintains an active routine of self-care and pursues support when necessary to minimize the threat of secondary trauma to physical and mental health.
- Ensures that Personal Identifying Information (PII) is properly used, accessed, gathered, shared and disposed. To protect the agency networks and applications by safeguarding systems, equipment and data.
- Performs Red Cross Shelter duty or other emergency shelter duty/services as directed.
- Performs other relevant duties as assigned.
High School Diploma and three (3) years of clerical, administrative, social work, corrections, business administration, or general business experience.
An Associate Degree and one (1) year experience in clerical, administrative, social work, corrections, business administration, or general business.
A Bachelor's Degree or higher may be substituted for the required work experience.
