In this position you will be responsible for the following:
- Printing Accounts Receivable Invoices and sending them to customers by either mail, email or online portals.
- Verifies and is first line contact with customers, Job Readiness Training Unit, or work training center on any invoice or deposit issues/inquiries.
- Manages incoming AR mail and sorts, logs, and distributes checks and cash payments.
- Approves and/or rejects all completed and approved AR deposits.
- Records, purges and shreds AR checks.
- Monitors personal and group email inbox providing timely and exceptional customer service.
- Acts as liaison with the bank and State Treasurer's Office concerning deposit issues/inquiries.
- Effectively train new staff and be willing to be cross trained as the department responsibilities and needs change.
- Monitors Aging Reports as assigned and needed for any Work Training Center locations.
- Communicates the status of accounts with Customers and Center Managers as needed.
- Completes Customer Debt Collection Reports for delinquent accounts as requested.
- Additional duties or projects as assigned.
- A high school diploma and four (4) years of experience in an entry-level accounting or bookkeeping position. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Official transcripts will be required to verify college degree.
- SCEIS knowledge.
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounts receivable principles and best practices.
- Ability to perform accounts receivable or accounting-related functions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experienced working with Microsoft 365, especially Excel and Word.
- Effective communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and be an active team player.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
