What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Technician II position at State of South Carolina?
Reviews, audits, and processes accounts payable vouchers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable state and federal regulations as well as SCJB policies and procedures. Confirms vendor information, charges, and applicable taxes are correct, and verifies that proper approvals, funding sources, account coding, and supporting documentation are in place before processing payments in the statewide financial system (SCEIS). Identifies and resolves discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and non-compliant expenses by coordinating with employees, supervisors, and vendors. Maintains organized fiscal records, files, and supporting documentation to support audits, reporting requirements, and records retention standards.
Reviews accounts receivable deposits prepared by the Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy, proper calculation, and timely completion. Processes and submits deposits of checks, cash, and money orders to the bank, and accurately clears outstanding deposit transactions in SCEIS within required timeframes while adhering to SCJB policies and procedures.
Assist with year-end accounts payable reporting requirements
Performs other related accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
