Under limited supervision, performs skilled tasks in a plumbing shop relating to a comprehensive planned and corrective maintenance program for University-wide plumbing systems including maintenance, installation, renovation, and new construction in over 185 buildings using 1.2 million gallons of domestic water per day with 14,500 miles of campus piping infrastructure of the University of South Carolina that includes athletic facilities, residence halls, and cafeterias operating continuously 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and could include satellite campuses and off-site facilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school graduate and 6 years experience in the management or supervision of commercial maintenance and repair services relating to plumbing systems with a journeyman certification in plumbing.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Knowledge of general maintenance requirements, maintenance requirements specific to trades background, safe work practices, and typical hazards within the work place.
- Ability to work within established resources, communicate in writing and orally to management, maintain accurate records, operate computer systems, organize work materials.
- Plan and prioritize work, develop and use strong customer service skills, maintain a harmonious relationship within team members and other departmental staff.
- Work independently, demonstrate dedication to team work and customer service, utilize safe work practices, and promote safety in the work place.
