Job Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Division Director of Behavioral/Mental Health (Men):
Works with regional mental health staff for the provision of services to the inmate population.
Provides clinical and administrative supervision to qualified mental health professionals, mental health officers, and mental health administrative assistant assigned to the region.
Provides mental health services in conjunction with qualified mental health professionals for inmates in accordance with policies and procedures to include assessment, crisis intervention, individual/group counseling, and discharge planning.
Provides oversight and monitoring of all crisis intervention and suicide precaution activities in the region.
Participates in treatment team and other scheduled meetings in the region.
Monitors compliance with mental health policies and procedures in the region and submits reports and compliance as requested.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A master's degree in clinical social work, counseling, or related degree and four (4) years of experience in counseling.
Must be licensed as an LPC-A, LPC, LMSW, LISW, or LMFT or higher
OR
Have comparable out of state licensure with eligibility for SCLLR license which must be obtained within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
Prefer LPC, LPC-S, LISW-CP, LISW-CP-S, LMFT, or LMFT-S license.
