Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the Hybrid/Warehouse Driver:
- Meet the needs of customers wishing to purchase property from the state Surplus Property Office. Assist customers with purchases and the loading of purchases, promote the Surplus Property Office, and maintain a customer friendly atmosphere using your customer service skills.
- Keep warehouse clean and organized in a manner that is convenient for customers to make purchases.
- Operate a box truck from Surplus Property to federal installations and state agencies. Must perform pre and post trip inspection and immediately notify management of any safety or mechanical issues with equipment.
- Assist in loading and unloading truck promptly to ensure future schedules are met. Turn-in truck driver paperwork to receiving. Cover vehicle inspections and online sales property pickups.
- Work or perform duties outside of normal assigned job duties when needed to ensure Surplus Property's success.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- A high school diploma and two (2) years of box trucking experience.
- Must have a valid South Carolina Drivers license.
- Experience working in a warehouse.
- Employee must be able to secure loads.
- Knowledge of merchandising, and customer service concepts.
- Ability to help train new employees and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Position requires routine driver duties.
- Position requires frequent stooping and/or bending.
- Position requires frequent lifting: 50lbs.
- Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.
- Must be able to use a hand truck, lift up to 50lbs unassisted, operate a forklift, and drive a state owned vehicle.
