Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the President, provides leadership for academics and instructional support functions of the College through the Division of Academic Affairs and supports a high-quality learning environment that promotes excellence and student success. Promotes the College to area businesses, education partners, and potential partners, sustains an environment of academic excellence and facilitates the growth of existing programs and development of new programs. Provides leadership for a diverse full-time and part-time faculty.
Provides leadership in the identification, development, and maintenance of high quality and market-appropriate learning curricula; overseas all functions of academic instruction (including dual enrollment), availability of instructions facilities, equipment, machinery, and other resources needed for optimal service delivery.
Ensures overall effectiveness of the instructional program; ensures compliance with standards of SACSCOC and other accreditation bodies; plans and implements systematic evaluation personnel and programs of the Academic Affairs Division.
Assists with the strategic planning and development of diverse and comprehensive student focused services, promotion of student success, coordination of the academic criteria for accepting students into instructional programs.
Responsible for fiscal management and accountability in the development and management of budgets, monitors spending and approves expenditure according to the annual spending plans, performs budget revisions and prepares budget reports.
Coordinates, supervises, and evaluates the implementation of divisional assignments and responsibilities with emphasis on academic division, quality instruction, retention, and recruitment.
Ensures that faculty are appropriately credentialed, personnel files are current, and all faculty are evaluated according to policy.
Performs other related duties as necessary to accomplish the educational objectives of the College and/or as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Master’s degree plus five (5) years of progressively responsible related work experience. Preferred: Doctorate plus six (6) years of related work experience in college administration in a post-secondary institution.
Preferred Qualifications
An earned doctorate plus five (5) years of related work experience in college administration in a post-secondary institution. Effective leadership emphasizing teaching, learning, and achieving student goals with demonstrated commitment to technological innovations. Extensive knowledge of higher education and higher education management, planning practices, trends, and techniques. Extensive knowledge of educational programs at the collegiate level; through knowledge of the college's mission, goals, and objectives. Knowledge of economic development and community empowerment programs. Ability to establish and maintain partnerships and working relationships with universities, K-12, and community groups. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge of SACSCOC guidelines, Title IX, FERPA, and US Department of Education guidelines regarding academia.
