Multiple positions are available. Normal work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm; however, flexibility in work schedule is required to meet hospital needs. These are full-time positions and eligible for the full State benefits package including health insurance and retirement.

CRH is a 398-bed state operated psychiatric hospital. It provides inpatient psychiatric care to patients of all ages with significant mental health illness. This care is provided over a broad range of service areas, including Adult Admissions, Geriatric Services, Community Transition Unit, Child and Adolescent Unit and Forensic Services.
CRH is located in Butner, NC. Our location is ideal with four seasons, mild temperatures and provides an easy commute to the N.C. mountains or beaches. Butner possesses small town charm but is within 30 minutes of a major metropolitan area including Research Triangle Park, Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham, NC. Qualified candidates must document on the application that they possess education/experience that clearly demonstrates the following:
Knowledge of the principles of the nursing process, inpatient mental and medical nursing.
Comprehensive knowledge in the practical application of psychiatric nursing theory and process.
Knowledge of adult learning (teaching) and group dynamics.
Experience with continuous quality of improvement specific to nursing Standards of Care, National Patient Safety Goals, Unit-based Plans of Correction, and/or Nursing/Facility Initiatives.
Experience with direct patient care and performing in Charge Nurse/Medication Nurse role.
Providing expertise through check off of nursing medication administration and medication delivery system.
Ability to function as an expert and consultant in the delivery of care for patient population and all other assigned tasks (within scope of practice) by Nursing Leadership.
ADA physical requirements will be discussed in detail during the interview process but at a minimum, includes ability to lift, kneel, walk up and down stairs and ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be ability to maintain current certification in NVCI and CPR annually.
Management prefers:
Graduation from a State accredited School of Professional Nursing with a BSN and two years of professional nursing experience; or a MSN with 6 months professional nursing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina and one year of experience in the area of specialization.The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
