Description of Work
Are you a college student (or recent college graduate) looking for an internship in cybersecurity? If so, continue reading to learn more about this exciting opportunity with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (DPS).
This internship is located with the North Carolina National Guard, a division of DPS. The Cybersecurity Intern will work closely with various IT Teams to reduce the risk of malicious activity and threats. The internship will provide student with direct exposure in one or more areas of cybersecurity with real world deliverables. The intern will aid with security projects and initiatives as needed and research best practices and trends in the cybersecurity and privacy fields. This role will be based in Raleigh, NC.
About the NCNG Cyber Team
NCNG's cyber team provides continuous cyber support to the State's critical infrastructure, networks, and data from cyber threats by providing responsive and effective cybersecurity capabilities. NCNG partners with State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial organizations to provide proactive and reactive assistance to ensure critical assets are protected and secured against malicious actors. NCNG's cyber team provides superior cyber defense and security capabilities in order to protect our nation's critical infrastructure and assets. NCNG will leverage the team's expertise, agility, and readiness to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats in support of federal agencies and our country's cybersecurity posture.
This internship is expected to start on May 19, 2025, and continue through July 25, 2025. The work schedule is part-time (up to 30 hours per week), Monday -Friday. The rate of pay is $18.00 per hour. We value our employees and are committed to providing flexibility in work schedules. This position qualifies for teleworking on a part-time basis as part of the State Telework Program.
