Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Queens, NY
Shift: Night | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Duration: 8 Weeks
Requirements:
- Sterile Processing Certification (CRCST or CSPD) – must be valid for entire assignment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience with tertiary facility experience, or 2 years without
- Preferred: 2 years of experience
Equipment/Systems:
- STERIS Washers, Autoclave
- IT System: SynergyTrak
Job Responsibilities:
- Rotate through all sterile processing areas, including decontamination; stand for extended periods
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and package instruments per manufacturer guidelines and department protocols
- Operate washers, ultrasonic cleaners, steam and EO sterilizers, and heat sealers
- Follow instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts
- Collect and transport used instruments from clinical areas for decontamination
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper assembly; report defects promptly
- Assist with inventory control, ordering, and stocking
- Maintain a clean, safe, and contamination-free work environment
